Overview

Oak Grove Technologies, LLC a fast growing federal contractor is seeking a Junior Instructional Designer with responsibility for designing distance, mobile, and instructor-led training for government and commercial clients. The Instructional Designer will work out of the Alexandria, Virginia or Raleigh, North Carolina office. Once the selected individual has proven a strong work ethic, he or she may be able to telecommute a few days a week.  Oak Grove Technologies offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Assess a client's learning situation, expectations, resources, constraints, learning needs, learning gaps, and tasks in relation to the organization's mission and goals.
  • Implement best practices in instructional design and incorporate feedback mechanisms.
  • Conduct training needs assessment. Analyze and research the technology and infrastructure available to meet client needs. Design curricula and courseware according to instructional principles, industry-accepted instructional strategies, client objectives, and program objectives.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to develop learning content, including: storyboards, job aids, presentation slides, instructor and participant guides, quick reference materials, and exercises.
  • Individual will work on various client projects.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 (three) years designing and developing highly interactive web-based learning, instructor-led and blended learning courses
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or instructional technology or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Advanced knowledge all phases of the instructional design (ADDIE) model 
  • Experience with custom-designed eLearning solutions that are SCORM compliant and Section 508 conformant
  • Possess excellent writing skills with an eye for detail and consistency
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients to reach consensus within constraints of time, budget, and resources
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, HTML, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, audio recording, and video editing software
